What to expect
- Local anaesthetic is applied before any work begins — the tooth and surrounding area are fully numb throughout
- Treatment takes 60–90 minutes and is occasionally split across two visits for teeth with complex root anatomy
- Expect mild soreness around the tooth for one to two days afterwards; standard over-the-counter pain relief is sufficient
- A crown or permanent filling is placed at a follow-up appointment to seal and protect the tooth long term
