Dr A.I. Thomas & Partners provides surgical treatment for tumours and cancers of the mouth, jaw and face, led by Dr Andrew Thomas, who completed his maxillofacial surgery training in the United States. This is work the practice does regularly, and every case is handled privately, sensitively and with care.
We assess and surgically remove tumours, growths and oral cancers, working to treat the condition while preserving function and appearance as far as possible. Straightforward cases are managed in our rooms; more involved cases are carried out in theatre. Where a wider specialist or multidisciplinary team gives the best outcome, we arrange that referral and stay involved in your care throughout.
When to have something checked
Early assessment matters. If you notice any of the following, it is worth having it looked at sooner rather than later:
- A mouth ulcer or sore that has not healed within a few weeks
- A lump, swelling or thickening anywhere in the mouth, jaw or neck
- A red or white patch that does not go away
- Persistent, unexplained pain, numbness or loose teeth
What to expect
- A thorough assessment, including imaging and, where needed, a biopsy, before any treatment plan
- A clear, private discussion of the findings and your options
- Surgery in our rooms or in theatre, depending on the complexity of the case
- Coordinated onward referral and follow-up where a specialist team is involved
